Major Towns / Cities / Villages in Kefalonia Greece
Argostoli, Kefalonia
Argostoli is the capital town of Kefalonia Greece and lies along the western coast of Argostoli Bay. It is lovely town with nice squares, charming buildings, traditional houses and stone paves streets. A short drive from the town you will discover great beaches, such as Makris Gialos, Platis Gialos, Kamaroules, Gradakia and Paliostafida.

Fiskardo
Cosmopolitan resort with traditional buildings lying in the north of the island. One of its assets is the waterfront promenade with the cafés, restaurants, bars and shops, making the perfect place for strolls, dining and entertainment. There are nice beaches nearby, such as Foki, Evreti, Kamini and many more.

Lixouri
Lixouri is the second largest town on the island right after Argostoli, located at the eastern coast of the island. It is a lively town renowned for its long cultural and political tradition. Being right on the opposite coast of Argostoli, the two towns are connected by ferry boat. 

Assos
Assos is one of the most charming spots on the island, a real treasure lying in the northern part of Kefalonia. Its wonderful harbour, serene atmosphere and verdant landscape make the perfect resort for relaxing holidays. There are wonderful beaches all around the area.

Poros
Poros is a scenic coastal settlement lying at a marvellous natural setting. At its harbour yachts and boats can dock There are nice beaches nearby, such as Limenia, Kako Laggadi, Ragia, Lazarou.

Sami
Sami is a significant town and popular resort, also featuring a harbour from where ferries depart for island tours and for Ithaki Island. It is a beautiful town, with nice buildings and wide streets as well as with natural charm making it a beloved destination. There are some nice beaches nearby, such as the ones close to town, Agia Paraskevi and Antisamos.

You can travel to Kefalonia Greece by ferry boat from Patra Port and Kyllini Port, in Peloponnese. The trip to Poros Port, Kefalonia from Kyllini lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The journey from Patra Port to Sami Port in Kefalonia, lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes.
